Discover the Hamptons: Dine, Stay, Shop, Play

(August 2019, East Hampton, NY, 11937) The East Hampton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its inaugural summer festival on Saturday, August 17th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Herrick Park. Presented by title sponsor the YMCA East Hampton RECenter, this will be the first summer festival held in East Hampton Village in over 350 years. The event will highlight all of the places to dine, stay, shop and play in the Hamptons. This year’s inaugural event will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock and the 1969 Summer of Love. Enjoy live music from the Woodstock Music Festival performed all day by local bands including the Potter/Tekulsky Band and The Space Bandits featuring Klyph Black and special guests, who will play over three hours of Woodstock covers beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Over 50 booths will be set up in the downtown park featuring various local artists, shopkeepers, and non-profits. Guests can enjoy some delicious bites including wood-fired pizza, tacos from Mattitaco, handmade pretzels, fresh juices, gourmet chocolate-covered ice cream sandwiches from Hampton Chocolates, and more. Village eateries will be open all day and offering specials and local craft beverages. Additionally, the festival will feature a “Discover the Hamptons” experience hosted by wellness lifestyle experts Ann Marie Foley and Alissa Striano. Visitors will be able to register online to take meditation, yoga, and pilates classes during the event while learning about some of the other year-round experiences that the region provides from local hotels, inns and attractions. There will be special exhibit with an onsite concierge sharing all of the year-round special packages for hotels, tours, destinations and experiences.

The festival will also include a Bedside Authors Reading Booth with authors Patricia Gussin (“Come Home”), Laura Holman Byrne (“Tater Tot at the Chase: A Happy Helper”), Jeanne McWilliams Blasberg (“The Nine”), Natalie Banks (“The Canary’s Song”), Gregory Zeigler (“Travels With Max: In Search of Steinbeck's America Fifty Years Later”), Nicola Harrison (“Montauk”), and Odete Martins Bigote (“A Cosmic Journey to the Unknown”).

Other activities include a tremendous YMCA KIDZONE featuring a giant American Ninja inflatable course, a 30’ climbing rock wall, inflatable axe throwing, an inflatable archery challenge, inflatable moon bounces, a splash pad game challenge and lawn hockey hosted by Buckskill Tennis Club. We will have a summer festival Art Center for all ages! Come make some Art on the Spot with The Art Nanny including ColorShield framed art and fun twist on tie-dye t-shirts and bags. Bring a white cotton shirt or fabric to make one for free! There will be white shirts and bags available to purchase to tie-dye. After the festival, join in on a firework show at Main beach hosted by the East Hampton Fire Department.

Kidzone ride and fitness class tickets are available online at, and parking is available at both the long-term parking lot and at John Marshall Elementary School.
