“Looking for Love” Scavenger Hunt
On Saturday, February 13, 2021, 11:00 am, enjoy a Valentine’s Day Scavenger hunt, by “looking for love” throughout Main Street in Southampton Village where there will be red hearts that need to be sought out. Grab a friend or a partner and embark on a journey of love! The Scavenger Hunt will start at the Southampton Inn. First prize and a gift for those who return a completed list. Valentine’s Day Hike in Southampton
Sunday, February 14, 2021, 10:00 am – Noon: Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Southampton Trails Preservation Society. Meet at Elliston Park off Millstone Brook Road in Southampton. Enjoy a moderately paced 3 mile hike with views of Big Fresh Pond and Wolf Swamp. Then visit the historic cemetery which is part of this park and hear the story of Emma Rose Elliston who was born on a whaling ship off Hawaii. Black History Month
Celebrate Black History Month with a visit to Southampton History Museum to learn about and have a special look at Pyrrhus Concer, one of the most important historical figures to Southampton. From slavery to the history of the whaling industry to international diplomacy in the 19th century to just the story of one local man's life. Both big and small, Pyrrhus' life story teaches so much, and now you can see just how close his life was to the Village of Southampton.
