From: 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM
Join a ranger to enjoy the (almost) full moonrise and sunset from Fire Islands ocean beach. The Pink moon is named for the moss phlox that blooms around this time in spring, but other names include the New Spring Moon, the Budding Moon, the Fish Moon and the Full Melting Moon.
Register in advance for this event as space is limited to ensure safe social distancing. Participants will be asked to follow CDC and local public health guidelines for COVID-19. We ask the public to be our partner in recreating responsibly by adopting social distancing practices and by wearing a face covering when social distancing cannot be maintained.
