The Ward Melville Heritage Organization (WMHO)’s 34th Annual Scarecrow Competition. Winning scarecrows will win cash prizes based on the number of votes they receive from the public.

How do you enter the Scarecrow Competition? Visit any shop or eatery in Stony Brook Village for a registration form or download here.  Mail in your entry form to WMHO at P.O. Box 572, Stony Brook, NY 11790 or drop it at our office located at 111 Main St. Stony Brook, NY 11790. Don’t forget your entry fee of $30!

Deadline for registration – MONDAY – September 23

Contestants set up scarecrows at assigned locations – WEDNESDAY, September 25 to FRIDAY, September 29

Public votes on entries by casting ballots available in Stony Brook Village Center stores – MONDAY, September 30 to FRIDAY, October 25

Winners will be notified by 5:00pm – MONDAY – October 28

Winners will be announced during the Halloween Festival in Stony Brook Village – THURSDAY, October 31
